After-hours visit

Evenings and Saturdays by appointment. Same 1-hour minimum and half-hour billing after that. Higher rate for off-schedule time.

How hourly time is billed: 1-hour minimum on hourly visits. After the first hour, time is billed in half-hour steps and rounded up to the next half hour (example: 1 hour 10 minutes = 1.5 hours). Flat “from $” packages are quoted as a job price instead—unless the scope grows, in which case we’ll re-quote before continuing. Travel is included within about a 20-minute drive of Greenville. Farther towns (such as Royse City, Rockwall, or Sulphur Springs) include a small distance fee, quoted up front before you book.

I’m Nathan—a Greenville-area husband and dad of two girls. I run Home Tech TX on my own so you get the same local person every visit, not a rotating app tech or a big-box ticket.
Most of my work is helping households—especially seniors and their families—make phones, TVs, Wi-Fi, and everyday devices feel ordinary again. I slow down, skip the jargon, listen first, and leave simple notes when that helps. No pitch for gear you don’t need.
If something is outside consumer tech (licensed electrical, monitored alarms, enterprise IT, or shop-level board repair), I’ll say so and point you toward the right kind of help.

Straight answers before you book a visit.
Do you come to my house, or do I bring devices to you?
Most work is in-home. That’s where Wi-Fi, TVs, printers, and “it only fails here” problems actually show up. For a small device question, we can sometimes start with a phone call or the free consult and decide together.
I’m not technical—will I be able to follow along?
Yes. The goal is that you (or the person who lives with the tech) can use it after I leave. I slow down, avoid buzzwords, and write simple steps when useful. You’re never expected to “just know.”
What’s included in the free 30-minute consult?
It’s a short, by-appointment visit to look at the situation, talk through options, and estimate time and cost for a full visit. It’s for scoping and fit—not free labor or a sales demo. If something is truly a one-minute fix, we may finish it then; otherwise we’ll schedule proper paid time.
Do you sell security systems or monitored alarms?
No. I help with consumer cameras, video doorbells, and smart locks—install, app setup, and household access. I am not a licensed alarm contractor and do not offer monitored alarm, fire, or life-safety systems.
Can you help parents or grandparents who feel left behind by new gadgets?
That’s a big part of the work. Training visits focus on the few things that matter day to day—calls, photos, texting, streaming, passwords—so confidence grows without overwhelm. Family members are welcome to sit in.
Do you work evenings or Saturdays?
Weekday hours are Mon–Fri 9:00 am – 6:00 pm by appointment. Evenings and Saturdays are available by appointment at the after-hours rate when I’m free. Call or email and we’ll see what fits.
How is my time billed on hourly visits?
There is a 1-hour minimum. After the first hour, I bill in half-hour steps and round up to the next half hour. Example: 1 hour 10 minutes is billed as 1.5 hours; 1 hour 40 minutes is billed as 2 hours. Time starts when I arrive for the appointment and ends when I leave. Flat package jobs are different—they’re quoted as a set price unless we agree to change the scope.
How do pricing and scheduling usually work?
Most weekday visits are $85/hour. After-hours and Saturday visits (by appointment) are $125/hour. Hourly visits have a 1-hour minimum; after that, time is billed in half-hour steps and rounded up (example: 1 hour 10 minutes = 1.5 hours). Some common jobs have flat “from” prices on the Pricing section. You’ll get a clear estimate before work starts. Appointments are by schedule—not walk-in. Call or email with your town, a short description, and preferred days.
